We’re on the way to Macquarie Island, so lots of nothing to see except ocean and fog.
Taken from the stern of the boat.
We had various lectures today: on penguins, sea lions, history. We also were introduced to the True Young Explorers: there were 10 of them aged between 18 and 30, on scholarships for this cruise. All of them were hugely enthusiastic , all with study or jobs to do with conservation of wildlife.
Tomorrow we are having a BBQ.for dinner because Macquarie Island is on Aussie time. They are preparing for Christmas- see Christmas tree, also there are some huge gingerbread houses.
Really looking forward to being on land and seeing more wildlife than we have already.
