Easy day today. Went for a 5ish km walk along the Roxburgh lake, then did a bit of a drive to Lake Roxburgh Village, then had to stop at Rob’s farm for some more ice cream!
The water is so green, deep and flowing fast. (Didn’t take my camera so took a photo of the photo on my phone)
For my Tid friends - had to take a photo of this sign! This was on a rise on the walk.
Really interesting striations in the rocks. Lots of quartz, so not surprising that gold was found around here.
Drove towards Roxburgh to find this amazing cafe for lunch. We didn’t pick our own cherries though, but we did buy some beautiful apricots and cherries.Tomorrow we head to Kurow but will try to get up to Mt Cook on the way because the weather will be better than the next day.

Are you freelancing now, driving yourselves? Assume you are heading to Christchurch. Ruth S
ReplyDeleteYes, driving ourselves. Spent last night in Alexandra and have 2 nights in Kurow, before getting to Christchurch and spending one night there before flying home.
DeleteYou are in beautiful countryside Aira - wonder why the name Niks Desperandum was given to the Bluff! Ice cream sounds good. Cheers Lesley.
ReplyDeleteWish I knew the answer to that!
